It took several years of heavy off-shore kayak fishing but it finally happened - a close encounter with an intimidating 3 metre shark. Not just any old shark either, but a Great White. I probably shouldn't have approached it like I did, because as soon as I got close enough it took immediate interest, in me and the kayak.This is not an experience I'm in any hurry to repeat, believe me (and is one that inspired me to get a Shark Shield).
