New poll: what would you do?

I've kicked off a new poll, this time asking a simple 2-option question. It's a simple hypothetical that is on my mind right now because it happened to me twice in the last few days. Each time it happened I based my decision on what to do next around what the tides were doing at the time. I do wonder what others might do in a similar situation, so it's formed the basis for this new poll. The results of the previous poll are interesting but not really very conclusive because there was only 23 votes (I don't think it helped that the poll was only visible for registered members for most of it's existence). Of those 23 votes, 9 elected to Anchor up and wait for tide change, which I think is a pretty wise option and certainly the first step I'd take. 7 voters thought it prudent to anchor up and then make a call on the radio. Depending on the conditions, there are times where I'd do the same.

A few people decided to pedal / paddle like mad and hope for the best and I reckon this is something I'd only do if I was highly confident I'd make it. of course, without an anchor present I'd have no choice - especially without a radio as well.
