QLD drought... broken yet?

Today Noosa feels more like Mallacouta; not only is the rain coming down with a heavy consistency, there's also strong winds blowing. There's little to no chance of me heading out in the yak in this sort of weather, which gives me a chance to play catch up. I've got quite a few things to get out of the way so this is a good opportunity to do so. With any luck this rain will stir the pot nicely and muddy things up somewhat - I don't think the crystal clear waters helped my chances yesterday. It's a bummer that I can't get out there right now, but it's good to see Queensland getting the water it so badly needs.

Now that I've been on the road for about a month I can speak with a fair degree of conviction on some of the gear I've been using and there's several items I've been meaning to review. I expect to get some of these written up today, followed by a fairly big update to the gear list section.

I'm also going to go shopping for a roof rack gear pod that is narrow enough to share space with the Hobie Revolution kayak. I really need to get those rods, paddle, fins and wetsuit out of the car – the rods get clumsy and the wetsuit booties gets stinky. I'll also be on the lookout for power supply alternatives, as I'm hoping to start spending more time at camp sites and less time in caravan parks.

national parks are the way to go except for no power, a much better and cheaper way to travel. less noise, less people......

Yep, I've reached the same conclusion. I'm spending a bit of time and money here in Noosa ensuring that it'll be easier for me to do exactly that. The real challenge is power supply, but theres a few ways I can go about skinning that cat.

NP's are the way to go....solar is the best option for power via good quality battery and inverter. apert from power you shouldn't need to spend to much more surely, keep it simple mate.

Yeah, apart from that I'm good to go - I won't need to spend anything else. And I only need power for PC access. If I wasn't operating this site at the same time I'd happily go without. I'll be ding just that over the next couple of days because I'm going to head upstream on a river camping trip for a couple of days tomorrow I think.

Hey there 5th
I have been on business up in that region recently (specifically the Gold Coast) and damn over the last week it has done nothing but rain. Have you caught that weather as well?

Hey there 5th
Yeah, mate, sure have. Its bucketed down for 3 days here. The rivers needed a flush though - this is good
