Thanks to Calafornia based kayak fisherman Douglas Gaxiloa for sharing this Youtube video (at the AKFF) of an experiment in wearing waders on a kayak - a practice that some people will try and tell you is just downright dangerous. I think this video proves that it really isn't, and that wearing waders is indeed a great way to stay dry and warm in the cooler months. Click the 'read more' link to view the clip.
18-02-2008 20:02 Gee, and all this time I thought I was a fearless, reckless yak fisho for daring to venture out in waders against the sage advice of so many forum experts. ![]() 19-02-2008 22:39 Yep, for some reason there's a lot of myths about what you should and shouldn't do in a kayak. This is just one of them. One day just for interests sake I'll wear some waders and actually let them fill with water. I'm willing to be that unclipping them and pulling them off is easy enough anyway. but as this video clearly demonstrates, having them fill with water is highly unlikely regardless. But yes... you are 'hardcore' mate :-) Only registered users can write comments. Powered by AkoComment Tweaked Special Edition v.1.4.6 |
