Pay peanuts, get monkeys I've been on the road a lot lately, driving a rather long van that is capable of carrying longer models of kayaks (which is why I'm driving it) and as a result, have been having to resort to eating maccas more often than I'd like (ie: never). If I'm not strapped for time, I often find it difficult to park anywhere else. So it's that or starvation, though sometimes I'm unsure which is worse. On my last trip from which I have just returned I took notice of a trend that I'm witnessing a lot lately, which is staff neglecting to check signuatures on credit cards, which really is very poor form. Now I know that these guys are usually pretty young, most often on their first job, but that doesn't excuse the lact of training they are getting, or the due dilligence they should be aiming for. After all - it could be someone else using your (stolen) card. So after a few consequetive experiences of having this happen, I decided to try a little social experiment. Instead of signing my own sig, I wrote 'I stole this card' instead. And guess what - it was accepted. The manager did get an ear-bashing over it, but surprisingly, she barely seemed to care either. Poor form maccas. Poor form indeed. Sure... you're learning how to make coffee Maccas, but don't seem to be learning a lot about how often credit card fraud is done. In this day and age, anyone working on a cash register should know better - even minimum wages earners.
