Looks good at Mackay though! By my own standards, I totally wussed out this weekend. I had planned to head out Saturday and came very close to, but just as I started peeling on the sharkskins I quickly checked AskHuey and noted that winds had indeed picked up steam. Just as predicted, for a change. Winds were blowing from the NNE at around 16 - 17 knots and gradually increasing. I could have found some cover behind Bowen island, but it would have been barely fishable at best in a few hours time. At the last minute I backed out and decided to get some work done at home instead. ![]() Cape Hillsborough, Mackay QLD (Great kayak fishing spot) Speaking of bigger than life photos - and warmth - Carl 'Astro' Holland (of Mackay) sent me this photo of a sunrise over Cape Hillsborough. This is a beautiful place, that is also an ideal kayak fishing destination, which is why Carl was there at this hour of the morning. Click the read more link to see another. ![]()
