Page 1 of 4 Yakabout Kayak Fishing Gear Checklist![]() Hobie Mirage Adventure The following list has been updated numerous times, and no doubt will be again. Up until recently, the list reflected equipment used whilst traveling the east coast of Australia. In an effort to trim the fat so to speak, I have now updated and revised this list to more specifically detail only the equipment I'm using for kayak fishing. Where possible I have included images of items as well as links to further references. I should mention that I never take all of this equipment out at any one time. What I take depends on numerous things, such as where I am fishing, what I am fishing for, what I am intending to achieve and what is physically plausable. For instance, I'll only take an anchor if I intend to come to a complete stop and fish with bait (which is rare). Some times I'll only take out 1 external rod holder, perhaps one or two rods and a handful of lures. Other times I'll make use of all available rod holders and carry out 4 rods and 3 gear buckets full of lures. Generally speaking, I try to only take out the items that I think I''m likely to need for any given trip, from rods & tackle, to storage & apparel. I always take out my safety kit, however, and usually both cameras as well. Kayak equipment![]() Rigged up and ready to go Hobie Adventure Kayak
